MN Chiropractor discusses Golfer’s Elbow

MN Chiropractor discusses Golfer’s elbow and how chiropractic and acupuncture can help.  The most common cause of Golfer’s Elbow is over-use of the muscles which attach to the inner portion of the elbow.  This can happen if the muscles of the hand, wrist, and forearm are strained or over-used and become irritated, inflamed, and swollen. This produces pain and tenderness at the inner part of the elbow. If allowed to progress, the pain intensifies at the elbow and can create tingling and/or numbness to the fingers.  This can happen not only in golfers but other sports that rely heavily on grip strength. Many cases of Golfer’s elbow are seen in the office in, but not limited to, the spring.  Why?  The golf courses are thawing and drying up enough for golf.  In turn folks are getting back into the swing of things from a six to seven month layoff. Many cases of Golfer’s elbow are exclusively in the the arm, but in some cases can stem from the neck, upper back or shoulder.  With a complete history, chiropractic and orthopedic evaluation we can help find a solution for you.
